Nacido el 10 de mayo de 1969 en Bois-Colombes, Francia, Christophe Lefriant, conocido artísticamente como Bob Sinclar, creció con una pasión innata por la música. Durante su juventud en París, el joven Chris estuvo rodeado de la influencia cultural y musical de la capital francesa, nutriéndose de una variedad de géneros que más tarde convergerían en su propio estilo singular.
Antes de convertirse en Bob Sinclar, Lefriant ya había probado suerte en el mundo de la música, tocando en diversos clubs parisinos desde los 18 años. Su amor por el funk, el hip-hop y el reggae fueron claros desde el principio, influencias que eventualmente definirían su sonido como DJ y productor.
En 1998, Chris Lefriant adoptó el alias de Bob Sinclar, inspirado por un personaje de la película francesa "Le Magnifique" de 1973. Este nuevo nombre no sólo representaba un punto de inflexión en su carrera, sino también el inicio de una era dorada para la música house en Europa y el mundo.
Bob Sinclar lanzó su primer álbum, "Paradise", en 1998. La producción fue bien recibida, en particular el sencillo "Gym Tonic", con su ritmo enérgico y pegajoso. Pronto, Sinclar se posicionó como una figura prominente en la escena house internacional.
