NETFLIX BUMPER
CUT TO: INT. JAYCE'S APARTMENT
Fade in on a blurry shot of the hallway outside of Jayce's apartment. Jayce and Caitlyn round the corner carrying supplies..
CAITLYN: You really went to the undercity to get these? Weren't you afraid?
JAYCE: A little danger is worth the risk, don't you think?
One of the items falls from the stack Caitlyn is carrying.
CAITLYN: Oh.
JAYCE: Uh, careful. That's your parents' money you're dropping.
Caitlyn leans over to pick up the item. Jayce attempts to open his door.
VI: Powder, we've gotta go!
JAYCE: Hello? Is someone in there?
Jayce drops his items and tries to force his apartment open.
JAYCE: Hey, open up!
Inside the apartment, a hex crystal rolls across the floor. Jayce tries to slam the door down. The hex crystal explodes, blowing up much of the apartment and sending Jayce flying back into a wall. Caitlyn gasps. Jayce becomes woozy. He briefly sees Vi in his apartment as she runs away.
CAITLYN: Jayce?
Her voice becomes muffled as he passes out, falling over.
CAITLYN: Jayce!
CUT TO: EXT. WILDERNESS
Cut to a flashback. A young Jayce and his mother struggle through a snowstorm. After a few steps, she falls to the ground.
JAYCE: Mom! Mom. Mom, wake up. Mom.
She remains unconscious. He looks around.
JAYCE: Help! Please, someone, help us! Help! Please!
A figure with a staff approaches. Jayce looks up at them. They hold a glowing rune in their hand. Jayce falls back. The figure walks a few steps away.
JAYCE: No, wa— Wait!
The figure begins using glowing, floating runes to cast a magic spell. Jayce and his mother float for a moment before shooting through an extra-dimensional space. The cloaked figure holds an image of Runeterra in its hand, which becomes an eye. There's a flash and Jayce wakes up in a field of flowers. The cloaked figure lets the rune fall in his hand. Cut to a wide shot of the area around them. Jayce watches his mother wake up.
JAYCE: How?
The figure drops the rune in Jayce's hand. Jayce looks up at them.
TITLE SEQUENCE
CUT TO: INT. JAYCE'S APARTMENT
Cut to Jayce's ruined apartment. Inside, Grayson questions him while Viktor examines a chalkboard.
GRAYSON: Let's go over it again.
JAYCE: You have to believe me. I didn't do this.
GRAYSON: Relax, kid. We know it was a break-in but that doesn't explain this. There's a lot of restricted items here and I don't see any permits. You wanna tell me how you got them?
An enforcer nearby picks up an object.
JAYCE: Hey, hey! Be careful with that, please.
VIKTOR: I believe someone should have said that earlier. What happened here?
JAYCE: Science, I guess?
GRAYSON: Last time I checked, science didn't require illegal equipment.
VIKTOR: Nor was this approved by the Academy. Who authorized your research?
Viktor walks over.
JAYCE: It was an independent study. Who are you anyway?
VIKTOR: I'm assistant to the Dean of the Academy, who it may serve you to remember is also head of the Council. He sent me here to ensure that anything dangerous is removed safely. Which, according to my list, includes you.
JAYCE: What? How am I dangerous?
VIKTOR: Uh, that's for the council to decide.
Grayson pulls out a pair of handcuffs. Jayce drops his head.
CUT TO: INT. PRISON
Cut to Jayce in a prison cell. He looks at the arcane rune on this wristband. Footsteps sound nearby. He looks up as the door opens. Heimerdinger enters.
HEIMERDINGER: Imprisonment. What a curious principle. We confine the physical body, yet the mind is still free. I do love a good conundrum. I remember the first time I saw you at the Academy. You reminded me of myself. A scientist ready to forge a new vector of experimentation. But sometimes we venture too far. No great science should ever put lives in danger. Be honest, now. What manner of inquiry was this?
JAYCE: Professor Heimerdinger, I… I believe I've discovered something truly incredible. A way to harness magic through science.
HEIMERDINGER: Magic?
JAYCE: Yes.
HEIMERDINGER: No.
JAYCE: No?
HEIMERDINGER: The Arcane is dangerous, Jayce. A force of nature. Science cannot control it.
JAYCE: But maybe it can. I'm close to a breakthrough, I know it.
HEIMERDINGER: How old are you, my boy?
JAYCE: I'm… I'm twenty-four.
HEIMERDINGER: Ah. Well, I am now three-hundred-seven years old. All my life, I've pursued the mysteries of science, only to discover some are better left unsolved. This, I'm afraid, is one of them. Own your mistakes before the Council, admit your work was dangerous, but speak nothing of magic. Do that and I theorize you'll get away with, um, how do you say, a slap on the wrist.
Heimerdinger knocks on the cell door and is let out. Jayce slumps back down.
CUT TO: INT. ARCADE
Vi uses a robotic boxing machine, hitting targets and dodging punches. On a scoreboard nearby, her score is shown moving up the leaderboard. Mylo sits picking his nose nearby.
MYLO: Remind me why we bother with this dump.
He holds up a toy gun. Vi's score hits the top of the leaderboard.
VI: Vander said to lay low. Enforcers never come down here, so this is as good a place as any.
CLAGGOR: Oh, what's the matter, Mylo? You worried Powder's gonna beat you again?
MYLO: Hey, if she didn't keep fixing these things, I wouldn't keep missing.
Powder stands up and activates the shooting range. Mylo misses several shots.
VI: You guys know I wouldn't take you on a job you couldn't handle, right?
MYLO: Are you kidding? That was the best job we've ever done. Maybe just don't take Powder next time.
Powders scowls.
CLAGGOR: Um…
Powder hits every target in the shooting range. She shoots Mylo a look and walks over to an arcade machine, but looks up when she hears a commotion outside.
ENFORCER: Get back.
An enforcer outside shoves a woman to the ground. Powder looks through a hole in a window to see Marcus interrogating a man.
MARCUS: Tell me where I can find them.
MAN: Topsider business ain't my concern.
MARCUS: It's every one of you trencher's concern now. Give me a name.
The man opens his mouth as if to answer but spits on Marcus's foot.
POWDER: Hey, guys? You should see this—
The man comes crashing through the window. The enforcers notice the group in the arcade.
MARCUS: Search them.
The other enforcers enter and approach the group.
MYLO: Go ahead, idiots. We've got nothing.
Powder grabs her bag with the hex crystals. She looks at Vi. Vi looks back at her. Marcus walks up. Vi shoots Claggor a look. He pulls a switch which turns off the lights in the arcade, leaving only neon designs to illuminate the room. Powder runs away from Marcus. Mylo kicks an enforcer and shoots arcade bullets which bounce fruitlessly off them. Vi throws a piece of the boxing machine, knocking one of the enforcers out before running off.
ENFORCER: Stop!
Claggor shoves an enforcer over and runs off. Mylo follows him.
ENFORCER: Get 'em!
Powder attempts to hide in the shooting range but is caught by Marcus. She traps his arm in one of the targets and Vi grabs her.
VI: Come on!
The group runs out of the arcade and into a back alley.
MARCUS: Get 'em!
Enforcers pour out after them. The group finds their way blocked by more enforcers. Ekko whistles at them and lets down a ladder from above.
EKKO: Over here!
The group climbs up the ladder. Vi kicks the ladder down after them, knocking several enforcers over.
VI: You need to hide those crystals.
POWDER: Yeah, no shit.
The group escapes into a run-down building.
CUT TO: INT. MEL'S QUARTERS
Cut to a shot of a large window in Mel's room as the sun shines through.
ELORA: The House Ferros received your letter. They insist business is steady.
MEL: Steady is stagnant, Elora.
Cut to a wide shot of the room. Mel works at a table. A man nearby ruffles through a crate. Elore approaches the table.
ELORA: They wished me to remind you that it's thanks to their innovations that you are the richest person in Piltover.
MEL: Yet I remain the poorest Medarda.
Mel picks up a puzzle cube on the table.
MAN: Excellent choice, Councilor Medarda. Supreme challenge. If I may…
Mel ignores the man.
MEL: We need something revolutionary, Elora. Something to put Piltover on the map. What of today's trial?
ELORA: His name is Jayce of House Talis.
MEL: A House? Remind me.
ELORA: They're toolmakers. I believe they came to renown for their design of the… collapsible pocket wrench.
MEL: Huh. But Heimerdinger favors him?
ELORA: As far as I can tell.
Mel picks up a puzzle cylinder.
MEL: Hmm. This one.
MAN: But that's… Well, that's a child's toy.
She chuckles.
MEL: Good.
CUT TO: INT. KIRAMAN HOUSEHOLD
Cut to a wide shot of a stairway. A Kiraman family portrait hangs prominently in the center. The shot cuts to each family member's still visage in the portrait as they speak.
CASSANDRA: The boy's got ambition. It's why we supported him in the first place.
TOBIAS: Ambition? Darling, he nearly blew up our daughter.
CAITLYN: Jayce had nothing to do with that. He was robbed.
Cut away from the painting to the Kiramans.
CAITLYN: We need to help him.
CASSANDRA: Caitlyn's right. We've known Jayce for years. Besides, we're his patrons. If anyone is meant to speak up for him, it's us.
She inspects her earrings in a mirror.
CUT TO: INT. THE LAST DROP
Sevika slams a table.
SEVIKA: We should hit them back. We've got the numbers to beat them.
Cut to a wide shot of several dozen Zaunites in the last drop. Vander and Benzo stand against the bar, facing the rest.
MAN: Yeah. Let's teach them what it means to mess with us.
CROWD: Yeah!
Vander lights his pipe.
VANDER: You sure that's what you want?
MAN: Let's do it!
VANDER: We crossed that bridge once before, and we all know how that ended.
MAN: You're just protecting your kids.
Vander glances at the kids.
VANDER: I'm protecting our people. I'd do the same for any one of you. We look out for each other. It's the way it's always been. This will blow over. We just need to stand together.
SEVIKA: The Vander I knew, the one who built the underground, wouldn't be afraid to fight.
He steps up to her.
VANDER: Do I look afraid?
SEVIKA: No. You look weak.
She whistles and leaves. Several other patrons follow her.
CLAGGOR: Why isn't he doing anything?
POWDER: We kicked the Enforcers' butts with just the four of us. Imagine what the whole of the Lanes could do.
MYLO: Jeez, even Powder wants to fight.
VI: So, why aren't we?
As the others head downstairs, Vi notices Ekko doesn't follow.
VI: Spill it, Ekko.
EKKO: Um… Oh, okay. Well, um, Vander's got a deal with the Enforcers.
VI: What deal?
CUT TO: INT. COUNCIL CHAMBER
Cut to a close-up of Grayson in an elevator. Cut to a medium shot of her and Jayce. Cut to an establishing shot of the council building. The councilors gather inside. Mel approaches Torman.
MEL: For your birthday, Councilor.
She places the puzzle cylinder on the table in front of him.
TORMAN: Ah, Mel, this is too kind.
He picks it up. Salo looks up at them.
MEL: I'm told it was built only for the sharpest of minds.
Salo looks at the nuts he's eating. He hurries over and presents them to Torman.
SALO: And I bought you some Ginkgo nuts.
TORMAN: Don't you know I'm allergic? What are you trying to do, kill an old man?
The front entrance opens. Grayson leads Jayce in past the watching crowd. A dome encloses the room. Viktor watches Jayce approach the main table. The room falls into darkness.
CASSANDRA: Jayce Talis.
A beam of light illuminates Jayce.
CASSANDRA: You are accused of illegal experimentation and endangering the citizens of Piltover. What do you have to say for yourself?
JAYCE: The materials were far more dangerous than I was aware of, and I… I now know my actions were against Academy regulations. What I did endangered people. It was reckless, and for that, I'm sorry. I ask the Council's forgiveness, and I hope that I can continue my studies.
CASSANDRA: As Jayce's patron of many years, I can speak for his character. I believe that one day, he will be a great contributor to our society.
TORMAN: He destroyed a building. Is this the sort of contribution we can expect?
HEIMERDINGER: If you were a scientist, you'd know you can't make a prototype without breaking a few wrenches.
MEL: Do you have anything to show for your work besides an explosion?
JAYCE: Uh, no. It came to nothing.
MEL: So, you're saying your study was meaningless?
JAYCE: It was revolutionary!
As the councilors talk, the camera spins around, cutting between them.
MEL: Revolutionary how? All I see is a boy meddling with things he doesn't understand.
SALO: The Academy seems to have loosened its standards.
SHOOLA: This is a fine line. If we condone this, what's next?
SALO: Ridiculous, really.
SHOOLA: The Council has more important matters to deal with.
TORMAN: Why is the academy—
MEL: Perhaps we should just finish this—
JAYCE: I was trying to create magic!
The camera stops spinning. Heimerdinger tenses.
TORMAN: Magic?
In the audience, Viktor's eyes widen.
SHOOLA: Arcane talents are something you're born with. They can't be fabricated.
JAYCE: Actually, I believe it is possible.
MEL: Has anyone even tried it before?
BOLBOK: The Arcane is the curse of our world. My race was nearly destroyed by it.
JAYCE: Surely, we, the pioneers of science, can use it for good. We're the champions of discovery. Why fear it when we can master it?
Viktor listens intently.
HEIMERDINGER: Jayce, enough.
JAYCE: This is the city of progress, think of the wonders we could create. Let me prove—
HEIMERDINGER: Enough! You don't understand what's at stake. But how can you? That's a burden that only I here carry. Time.
As he continues, a vision of a mage wreaking havoc appears on screen.
HEIMERDINGER: (Voiceover) I've seen this power in the wrong hands. It corrupts, consumes, lays waste to civilizations.
Cut to a close-up of Heimerdinger.
HEIMERDINGER: That cannot happen here, my boy. It must not.
SHOOLA: Heimerdinger is right. Piltover was founded to escape the warmongering of mages, not cultivate it.
BOLBOK: The Ethos is clear. He must be banished from Piltover.
Cassandra gasps.
XIMENA: Please, let me speak!
Ximena emerges from the crowd.
XIMENA: As a lower house, my voice doesn't carry much weight here. But as a mother, I have a voice that matters deeply. My son isn't in his right mind. His entire life, he's chased an impossible dream. What he did was, uh, foolish and unwise. But he has a good heart. Please, let him come home.
SALO: A crime like this can't be overlooked. The boy must be punished.
HEIMERDINGER: A violation of the Ethos calls for banishment, but I can sympathize with a young man's dream to change the world. Perhaps in this matter, a lesser sentence may suffice. I move that Jayce be summarily expelled from the Academy and remanded to the care of his parents. All those in favor?
Heimerdinger raises his hand. A beam of light illuminates him. Cassandra does as well. Salo shakes his head. Mel raises her hand. She shoots Torman a glance. He follows suit.
HEIMERDINGER: You may take your son home, Mrs. Talis, but he is to never set foot on Academy grounds again.
The dome opens, allowing light back into the room.
CUT TO: INT. WAREHOUSE
Cut to an establishing shot of a ruined warehouse. Marcus stands inside. He steps in a strange substance on the floor and sees Silco enter.
MARCUS: First time I've been invited to the Lanes. It better be worth my time.
SILCO: Ah, you see, that's your weakness, Marcus. You carry your chin so high, you fail to see the opportunity below.
MARCUS: Who are you?
SILCO: You're looking for four children, the ones running circles around Piltover's finest.
MARCUS: What about it?
SILCO: Don't look so concerned. I'm about to make your day.
CUT TO: INT. TALIS HOUSEHOLD
Cut to a shot of Jayce in his childhood bedroom from outside, the city reflected in the glass. Inside, he touches the rune in his wristband. His mother knocks on his door.
XIMENA: Can I come in?
She enters.
XIMENA: Hmm. I still remember the look on your face when you found these.
She picks up a crystal on his windowsill. She looks at an image of Jayce as a child with his father on the wall. She sighs and turns around.
XIMENA: Jayce, please. If I hadn't spoken, you'd be lost to me.
She sits on the bed next to him.
XIMENA: I had to say something.
JAYCE: Magic saved your life.
XIMENA: Yes, but it won't save yours now. You need to let it go.
JAYCE: I could've convinced the Council. If my own family won't help me, I'll find someone who will.
He gets up and walks away.
CUT TO: INT. HEIMERDINGER'S LAB
Heimerdinger carries some of Jayce's materials to a shelf.
HEIMERDINGER: Oh. That foolish boy.
VIKTOR: Yeah, I must admit, his theory intrigues.
HEIMERDINGER: If dangerous ideas didn't excite the imagination, we would never wander astray.
Viktor looks through Jayce's notes.
VIKTOR: Could it work? Could these stones really invoke magic?
HEIMERDINGER: Nonsense. It's far too unstable.
VIKTOR: Could you stabilize it?
HEIMERDINGER: Me? Why would I? That only leads to more problems, and that poor boy has enough of them already.
Heimerdinger takes Jayce's notes and puts them on the shelf.
HEIMERDINGER: There. Come tomorrow morning, his research will be safely disposed of. Lock up. No, no, no. Magic is far too dangerous in the wrong hands.
After Heimerdinger is out of earshot, Viktor takes Jayce's notes.
CUT TO: INT. SINGED'S LAB
Silco holds a vial of Shimmer up.
SILCO: Will he live?
SINGED: Long enough.
A large animal swims in the water outside of Singed's lab. Silco approaches Deckard and they both look out into the water.
SILCO: Beautiful, aren't they? Yet, up there on the surface, no one even knows they exist.
DECKARD: They're monsters.
SILCO: There's a monster inside all of us.
He holds up the vial of Shimmer.
DECKARD: What? No. No, no! It'll kill me!
Silco pulls out a knife.
SILCO: I'd like to let you in on a very important secret I learned when I was about your age, boy. You see, power, real power doesn't come to those who were born strongest, or fastest, or smartest. No. It comes to those who will do anything to achieve it. It's time to let the monster out.
He holds the vial out to Deckard. Deckard looks around nervously. Singed nods at him. Deckard takes the vial and drinks it, struggling as it rapidly transforms him. He screams. The shot pulls back out of the lab and into the warehouse on the surface.
CUT TO: EXT. KIRAMAN HOUSEHOLD
Rain falls outside. Jayce tries to open the gate to the Kiraman manor. Caitlyn sits nearby with a red umbrella.
CAITLYN: They won't see you. Your name's no good now. My dad says you're a misfit, and that we can't be friends anymore.
JAYCE: So, why are you out here?
CAITLYN: I'm a misfit too, I suppose. What will you do?
JAYCE: Join the Talis hammer business, I guess.
CAITLYN: You can't do that.
JAYCE: No, I can't.
Cassandra exits the house.
CASSANDRA: Come inside, Caitlyn. Now.
Caitlyn gets up and gives Jayce a glance before heading back inside.
JAYCE: I'm sorry. I just wanted to explain—
CASSANDRA: I think you've done enough.
She turns around and goes inside.
CUT TO: INT. COUNCILOR CHAMBER
All of the councilors other than Heimerdinger stand around by a window. Grayson and Marcus stand several steps below them.
MEL: You said this was a robbery. Did they take anything dangerous?
GRAYSON: Hard to say. We don't exactly know what we did find, let alone what we didn't.
TORMAN: This mention of magic has the people afraid. The culprits must be apprehended.
GRAYSON: We're doing our best, Councilor. I assure you.
SALO: Your attitude makes me question if your best is up to the task.
MARCUS: Oh, we'll find them. Don't worry.
GRAYSON: We've conducted exhaustive interrogations, frozen commerce for half the district. With all due respect, Councilor, don't you think we've pushed them hard enough?
BOLBOK: Do whatever it takes. Turn the undercity upside down if you have to. Just find them!
Marcus steels his gaze.
CUT TO: INT. THE LAST DROP
Cut to the jukebox in The Last Drop. Vander stands at the bar, playing with the message tube Grayson gave him. He hears someone enter.
VANDER: Welcome to The Last Drop.
He looks up and scowls. Several patrons watch as a group of enforcers led by Marcus enter. Vander hides the message tube below the bar.
VANDER: What can I get you?
MARCUS: Four sump-rats will do. Search the place.
The other enforcers spread out.
VANDER: While you're wasting your time, how about a proper drink?
MARCUS: I'll take the strongest shit you got.
Vander reaches below the bar to grab a bottle. He hits a hidden button which activates an alarm in the basement. The five kids look up, now alert. An enforcer heads down and enters the basement, now dark and empty. The kids are shown hiding in different areas throughout the room. Marcus swirls his drink and looks at the bottle.
VANDER: Mm. You be careful with that.
MARCUS: Nearly forgot. I ran into an old friend of yours. He had some stories.
Marcus takes Vander's pipe. Vander shoots up. The patrons all get up. An enforcer pulls out a baton. Vander shakes his head.
MARCUS: You weren't always the peacekeeper, were you?
He drops the pipe into his drink.
VANDER: Yeah, well, you can't escape the past. Right?
Cut to a higher shot showing Vander's cast iron gloves hanging from a pipe.
VANDER: Be a shame if I had to put them on again. Cast iron's, well, it's hard to clean.
The camera pans back to the kids in the basement. Powder, hiding in the ceiling, struggles to hold herself up. The enforcer continues to sweep the room. She almost slips down. The enforcer leaves after a few moments. Powder falls to the floor. The enforcer arrives upstairs and shakes his head at Marcus. Marcus scowls.
MARCUS: You people down here are all the same, mistaking arrogance for bravery. You think you're standing up for something, but we all know there is a crime behind every coin that passes through this place. You're just a small man in a little hole the world forgot to bury.
Shatters his drink on the bar.
MARCUS: And I'm gonna bury the lot of you.
Vander looks down. Cut to him entering the basement.
VANDER: Are you all okay?
VI: No, we're not okay. They almost saw Powder. What if they took her?
Powder lights a lamp.
VANDER: No one is taking any of you. Never let that happen.
VI: It's already happening. You heard him, they won't stop. We need to fight back. And if you won't, I will.
VANDER: I've heard this kind of talk before.
CUT TO: EXT BRIDGE
Cut to establishing shots of the bridge between Piltover and Zaun. Vi and Vander stand on one side.
VI: Why are we here?
VANDER: You still don't understand.
VI: What I don't understand is how you can work with them. We were here. We saw what they did. I grew up knowing I'm less than them, that my place is down there. I want Powder to have more than that, and I'm willing to fight for it.
VANDER: So was I. I was angry, just like you. I led us across this bridge, thinking things could change. If I hadn't, your parents would still be alive. I know you wanna hurt the topsiders for what they've done to us. But who are you willing to lose? Mylo? Claggor? Powder? Nobody wins in war, Vi.
VI: What are we gonna do? The Enforcers will come back.
VANDER: I, I don't know. I'll, uh, I'll figure it out.
Vi looks down at a memorial to several Zaunites.
CUT TO: INT. JAYCE'S APARTMENT
Jayce stands at the edge of his apartment where the wall has been blown open. He takes a step towards the edge. His wristband and a letter sit on a table nearby. As he braces himself and prepares to jump to his death, Viktor enters.
VIKTOR: Am I interrupting?
Jayce stumbles and pulls back from the edge.
JAYCE: The hell's your problem? What's that? Another list with my name on it?
Viktor is holding Jayce's notes.
VIKTOR: Actually, yes, but only because you signed your notes. Every page, I might add. Eh, a little egotistical, don't you think?
JAYCE: Is that why you came? To insult me?
VIKTOR: No, no, I was… I was intrigued by what you said at the trial.
JAYCE: That makes you the only one.
VIKTOR: Yes, well, I wanted to talk about your work. This Hextech theory of yours.
JAYCE: It's not a theory. I saw with my own eyes what magic can do, the lives it could save. You've no idea how beautiful it is. And now it's gone. No one believed me.
VIKTOR: Nobody's ever believed in me. A poor cripple from the undercity. I was an outsider the moment I stepped foot in Piltover. I didn't have the benefits of a patron or a name. I simply believed in myself. Which is why I'm here because I think you're on to something. I want to help you complete your research.
JAYCE: No one thinks it can be done.
VIKTOR: When you're going to change the world, don't ask for permission.
Viktor holds out Jayce's wristband. Jayce takes it back.
JAYCE: I don't even know your name.
VIKTOR: It's Viktor.
CUT TO: INT. THE LAST DROP
Cut to a close-up of Vi. She sighs and enters the basement. Mylo and Clagger are sitting at the table.
MYLO: Vi, where you been?
CLAGGOR: Rumor is the Lanes are gonna fight.
Vi sees Powder in her bed working on gadgets.
POWDER: Look, I made them for the Enforcers. These are smoke bombs, and those two are full of nails. They're gonna work this time, I know it.
VI: Me too. You know, Powder, what makes you different makes you strong. Always remember that, okay?
CUT TO: INT. GRAYSON'S OFFICE
Grayson shoves Marcus against her desk.
GRAYSON: What the hell were you thinking, going into The Last Drop? Do you have any idea what you've done?
MARCUS: I was getting results! You heard the Council.
GRAYSON: You're a fool. There is no stopping what happens now.
A message arrives for her nearby.
GRAYSON: Maybe it's not too late.
The jukebox in The Last Drop loads a record into place. "Our Love" by Curtis Harding plays. Cut a wide shot of the bar. A montage begins, cutting between Powder and Vander at the bar, enforcers walking through the undercity, and Vi breaking into Benzo's shop. The montage ends with Vi getting up in Benzo's shop as someone arrives.
