When the evening had settled
And the trees outside quivered
And the room that I sat in was empty and bare
She opened the door and entered – like a river
She unfurled her hair
Having nowhere to go she slept the whole night
Having nowhere to stay she thought she’d stay here
And I watched the stars like circles of light
With her body so near
And I dreamt of stone, stone, stone
Because in the end she meant nothing to me
And I just dream, dream, dream
Nothing is real in the dream that I see
Well sometimes it seems that she’s here by my side
And sometimes it seems that she is unknown
And sometimes she is a sorrow inside
On my heart like a stone
Well I always knew that the morning would break
But I didn’t know she would like a dream fade away
So now I wish that I never did wake
To the light of the day
