'. ¿Quién es Doom? Doom es una banda británica de hardcore punk. Fue formada en Birmingham, Inglaterra, en 1987. Considerada entre los precursores del género grindcore, surgido del punk rock, se dio a conocer a través de la discográfica Peaceville Records. Obtuvieron apoyo del DJ John Peel de BBC Radio, quien la tuvo entre sus bandas favoritas. Inicios de Doom en la Música Doom, que se inició con el nombre de The Subverters, comenzó con Jon Pickering en el bajo y la voz principal, Brian "Bri" Talbot en la guitarra y Jason Hodges en la batería. Poco después, Jason fue reemplazado por Mick Harris y cambiaron al nombre actual. Con esa alineación tocaron en numerosos conciertos, destacándose por el sonido crossover metal. Sin embargo Bri y Jon, al no estar satisfechos con ese estilo musical y por influencia de la banda inglesa de hardcore punk, Discharge, se inclinaron al crust punk, un subgénero por el cual fueron reconocidos ampliamente.
