Significado del nombre Sus fundadores indicaron en una entrevista que el nombre artístico viene del hecho de que, al viajar por todo el mundo, a lugares donde han existido imperios, el sol ha sido un tema de culto, decidiéndose por Empire Of The Sun, en español Imperio del Sol. Inicios de Empire Of The Sun en la Música Empire Of The Sun se inició cuando Luke Steele y Nick Littlemore, decidieron unirse para componer música electrónica.
