"It seems that the demons have summoned me once more... to rise from the darkness; not for a match, but for a war..."
[Intro: Edwin Starr, Randy Savage]
Yeah! (That kills right there!)
(DJ Cummerbund) Uh-huh, uh-huh!
Heugh, look out! Listen to me!
[Verse 1: Edwin Starr, Village People, The Undertaker]
Aouuugh, war! (Young man!)
I despise, 'cause it means destruction of innocent lives (Young man!)
(War, man!) War means tears to thousands of mothers' eyes
When their sons go out to fight and lose their lives
(Go to fight, lose their lives!)
(Young man!) War is an enemy to all mankind
(Young man!) The thought of war blows my mind
(War, man!) War has caused unrest, within the younger generation
Induction then destruction; who wants to die?
(Who wants, who wants to die?) (Vengeance is mine.)
Good god, y'all! Aouuugh, war!
[Chorus 1: Edwin Starr, Village People]
(War-M-C-A!) Heugh!
(What is it good for?) Absolutely (nothing!)
Say it again! Heugh!
It ain't nothin' but a heartbreaker
It's got one friend: that's the Undertaker; Aouuugh, war!
[Verse 2: Edwin Starr, Village People]
(Young man!) Has shattered many young men's dreams
(Dream, man!) Made them disabled, bitter and mean
(Mean man!) Life is much too short and precious to be fighting wars these days
War can't give life, it can only take it away; heugh!
(Can't keep life, takes away!)
(Peace, man!) Peace, love and understanding, tell me
(Peace, man!) Is there no place for them today?
(Young man!) They say we must fight to keep our freedom
But Lord knows there's gotta be a better way
(Got to be better way!)
I said war! Good god, now! Aouuugh, war!
[Chorus 2: Edwin Starr, Village People, Randy Savage]
(War-M-C-A!) Heugh!
(What is it good for?) Absolutely (nothing!)
Say it, say it, say it!
It ain't nothin' but a heartbreaker
Friend only to the Undertaker; You tell 'em! War!
(War-M-C-A!) Say it, say it, say it, say it!
(What is it good for?) Absolutely (nothing!)
Stand up and shout it! (He-yeah!)
It ain't nothin' but a heartbreak
Friend only to the Undertaker; I said war!
[Guitar Solo: Zack de la Rocha, Edwin Starr]
Who controls the past now controls the future
Who controls the present now controls the past
Who controls the past now controls the future
Who controls the present now? (Uh-huh, yeah!)
Now testify!
[Verse 3: Cyndi Lauper, Village People, Edwin Starr]
(Young man!) I come home in the morning light
My mother (Mother!) says, "When you gonna live your life right?"
(Momma!) Oh, momma dear, we're not the fortunate ones
And girls, they want to have fun!
(Phone rings!) The phone rings [honk] in the middle of the night
My father (Father!) yells (Aouuugh!), "What you gonna do with your life?"
(Daddy!) Oh, daddy dear, you know you're still number one
But girls, they want to have fun!
(Listen to me!) Oh, girls just wanna have
[Chorus 3: Edwin Starr, Village People, Cyndi Lauper, Randy Savage]
(War-M-C-A!) (Heugh!)
That's all they really want!
(What is it good for?) (Absolutely nothing!)
Some fun! (Say it again!)
When the working day is done (Uh-huh, yeah!)
Oh, girls, (Ooh, yeah!) Oh, girls just wanna have fun
(Say it again, y'all!)
(War-M-C-A!)
Wanna have fun!
(What is it good for?) Absolutely (nothing!) (Say it, say it, say it!)
Wanna have fun, girls wanna have fun!
It ain't nothin' but a heartbreaker
Wanna have fun, girls... wanna have-
Friend only to the Undertaker; You tell 'em!
[Outro: The Undertaker, Edwin Starr, Cyndi Lauper]
"I have one mission, and that... is to annihilate Nassau Coliseum." (Good god, y'all!)
".deyortsed eb lliw uoY" (Oh, girls just wanna have fun!)
Aouuugh, war!
