Su primer nombre reconocimiento fue Imagica, pero luego cambiaron su nombre a The Birthday Massacre. Una característica particular de esta banda es que todos sus integrantes, actuales o anteriores, utilizan pseudónimos asociados a diversos simbolismos. Ha ganado reconocimiento con sus trabajos discográficos, entre ellos: "Nothing and Nowhere", "Violet, "Walking with Strangers", "Hide and Seek", "Superstition", "Under Your Spell", "Diamantes" y "Fascinación".
