'A Cinderella Story' es mucho más que un nombre pegajoso en la industria musical; es el relato inspirador de cinco jóvenes soñadores que, a pesar de las adversidades, se convirtieron en un fenómeno global. La banda fue fundada en 2012 en Filadelfia, Estados Unidos, por tres amigos de la infancia: Emily Parker, Josh Hernandez y Allison Reed.
Emily y Allison tenían una pasión innata por el canto, mientras que Josh sobresalía en la guitarra desde temprana edad. Fue durante una tarde de verano que, tras una improvisada sesión de música en el garaje de Emily, decidieron formalizar su amistad musical. Poco a poco, comenzaron a componer sus propias canciones, llenas de letras profundamente personales y melodías pegajosas.
El Primer Paso: Un EP y el Estrellato Local
En 2013, con la incorporación del baterista Chris Carter y el bajista Sophie King, 'A Cinderella Story' lanzó su primer EP titulado "Shoes and Dreams". Este trabajo inaugural contenía cinco canciones que exploraban temas de amor, desamor, y aspiraciones juveniles. Con canciones como "Glass Slippers" y "Midnight Escape", lograron captar la atención del público local y de varias estaciones de radio independientes.
El éxito del EP les abrió las puertas para participar en eventos más grandes y abrir conciertos de bandas establecidas. Su carisma en el escenario y la química entre los miembros del grupo rápidamente los convirtieron en favoritos de la escena musical filadelfiana.
