La Fascinante Historia de Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Dark (OMD)

Inicios y Formación

En el año 1978, la escena musical del Reino Unido estaba a punto de recibir a una banda que redefiniría el sonido del synthpop. Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Dark, más conocidos simplemente como OMD, fueron fundados por dos talentosos jóvenes de Merseyside, Inglaterra: Andy McCluskey y Paul Humphreys. Ambos venían de proyectos previos pero fue su amor compartido por la música electrónica lo que los reunió.

Desde el principio, su sonido se caracterizó por un uso innovador de los sintetizadores y las cajas de ritmos, lo que los diferenció de otras bandas emergentes. McCluskey y Humphreys fusionaron sus habilidades para crear algo único; Andy se encargaba del bajo y la voz principal, mientras que Paul aportaba con los teclados y la voz secundaria.
