'. ¿Quién es Los Pericos? En el año 1987 sacaron su primer disco, a sólo cuatro meses del show debut. En tres meses vendieron 10.000 discos y esa cifra se elevó a 75.000 al medio año. Desataron una fiebre reggae inédita en Argentina, al compás de "El ritual de la banana". "King Kong" (1988) fue producido por Herbert Vianna, vocalista de Os Paralamas, y su hit más importante fue "Fronteras de América". «Nosotros fuimos moda y recien despues nos hicimos de abajo, que es algo mucho mas duro que al revés. Es bravísimo porque el castigo del boom fue hacernos de abajo, aunque ahi comenzamos a crecer y se pudo ver el aguante de la banda», reflexionaba El Bahiano. Los dos siguientes discos fueron la prueba de ello, ya que ni "Maxi anfitreu" (1989) ni "Rab a dab stail" (1990) respondieron a las expectativas comerciales o musicales.
