Inicios e Influencias
Awolnation, formado en 2009, es un proyecto musical que surge del genio creativo de Aaron Bruno. Antes de Awolnation, Bruno había sido parte de bandas menos conocidas como 'Under the Influence of Giants' y 'Hometown Hero'. Sin embargo, sus ambiciones musicales nunca se vieron realmente cumplidas hasta que decidió emprender su propia travesía con Awolnation, cuyo nombre es un tributo sarcástico a su apodo "AWOL" durante su infancia, que se refiere a "Absent Without Leave" o "Ausente sin Permiso" en español.
Sus primeras influencias vienen de una mezcla ecléctica de géneros que abarcan el rock, indie, pop, y electrónica. Estas variadas influencias han permitido a Bruno experimentar con sonidos y técnicas, dando a Awolnation una identidad sonora única y distintiva.
Ascenso al Éxito: "Sail" y Más Allá
El verdadero punto de inflexión para Awolnation ocurrió con el lanzamiento del sencillo "Sail" en 2011, parte de su álbum debut "Megalithic Symphony". Esta canción combinó sintetizadores oscuros con letras introspectivas y se convirtió en un éxito viral, alcanzando la escala global en ventas y reproducciones. La emotiva intensidad y el tono melancólico de "Sail" resonaron con millones, catapultando a Awolnation al estrellato.
