Walk the Moon: La Fascinante Historia de una Banda que Conquistó el Mundo
Orígenes y Formación
Walk the Moon es una banda estadounidense de rock, originaria de Cincinnati, Ohio. La historia de este grupo comienza en 2006, cuando el vocalista principal Nicholas Petricca decidió formar una banda mientras estudiaba en la universidad. Inspirado por grupos de new wave y rock indie, Nicholas empezó a experimentar con diversos sonidos y a escribir canciones.
El nombre de la banda proviene de la canción "Walking on the Moon" de The Police, la cual encapsulaba el espíritu y las influencias que Petricca quería transmitir con su música.
Primeros Años y el Álbum Autoeditado
En los primeros años, Walk the Moon pasó por varios cambios en su alineación. Sin embargo, en 2010 la banda logró una configuración más sólida con Kevin Ray en el bajo, Sean Waugaman en la batería, y Eli Maiman en la guitarra. Ese mismo año, lanzaron su primer álbum de forma independiente, titulado "I Want! I Want!". Este disco contenía una versión temprana de "Anna Sun", la cual se convertiría en su himno y trampolín a la fama.
El Gran Éxito: “Anna Sun”
La canción "Anna Sun" no solo capturó la atención de los aficionados al indie rock, sino también la de varias revistas musicales y productores discográficos. El sencillo se volvió viral en internet y atrajo la atención del sello discográfico RCA Records, que firmó un contrato con la banda en 2012. Ese fue el año en que Walk the Moon lanzó su primer álbum homónimo bajo
