'. ¿Quién es Bobby Cruz? Bobby Cruz nació un 26 de febrero en el pueblo de Hormigueros, Puerto Rico. Desde muy pequeño sintió una gran inclinación por la música. En el humilde campo donde se crió su mayor diversión era cantarle a los chivos de la finca que pastoreaba. Cuando terminaba saludaba a los chivos diciéndoles ¨Muy agradecido, muy agradecido" igual que Pedro Vargas su ídolo. Bobby, nunca imaginó en su niñez que cuando creciera se convertiría, al igual que Vargas en una leyenda, pero de una música nueva, un sonido diferente y un género emanado de su personalidad: la Salsa. Cuando se muda junto a su familia a Nueva York siguió desarrollando sus inquietudes musicales y encontró un cómplice, su vecino y amigo Richie Ray, con quien formó la Orquesta "Richie Ray y Bobby Cruz". En el 1965 logran su primer éxito profesional, "Comejen". La fuerza de este tema empezó en Nueva York y como un poderoso germen se extendio a toda latinoamérica, desatando en las masas una euforia nunca antes experimentada.
