'. ¿Quién es Yazoo? Yazoo fue un dúo musical británico. Se fundó en Basildon, Essex, Reino Unido, en 1981. En Norteamérica fue promocionado como Yaz, para evitar problemas legales con una discográfica de igual nombre. Estuvo conformado por una cantante y un tecladista, también de compositor. Tuvo vigencia formal hasta 1983, después de publicar su segundo álbum de estudio. Luego, ha habido ciertos reencuentros para alguna gira de conciertos o para editar discos recopilatorios. Ganó fama con sus dos únicos álbumes, "Upstairs at Eric's" y "You And Me Both". Impresionó al público por los sonidos del sintetizador y la voz de Alison Moyet. En Estados Unidos, alcanzó popularidad con "Situation", un tema que fue muy escuchado en discotecas y demás clubes nocturnos. Durante su carrera musical de menos de dos años, Yazoo dejó huella. Fue considerado influencia para la música house, que surgió a mediados de los ochenta. La clave estuvo en la combinación de instrumentos electrónicos, con esa conmovedora voz femenina.
