'. ¿Quién es Joe Satriani? Joe Satriani nació el 15 de julio de 1956 en Westbury, New York. Comenzó a tocar a los 14 años. Se decidió por la guitarra tras escuchar a Jimi Hendrix. Durante los años 1970 Satriani se mudó a Berkeley, California persiguiendo una carrera como músico. Fue inspirado por músicos como Allan Holdsworth y Lennie Tristano. Cuando su amigo y antiguo alumno Steve Vai alcanzó la fama tocando con David Lee Roth en 1986, Vai alabó a Satriani en multitud de entrevistas a revistas de guitarra Su segundo álbum editado en 1987 y llamado Surfing With the Alien se considera como uno de los mejores albumes de guitarra instrumental del rock, conteniendo temas como "Always with me, always with you" o "Midnight", según la encuesta anual de lectores de la revista estadounidense Guitar Player. En 1989, la canción de Satriani One Big Rush (originalmente lanzada como Flying in a Blue Dream) fue incluida en la banda sonora de Say Anything.
