Manowar: Los Guerreros del Metal

Inicios y Formación

Manowar es una banda de heavy metal estadounidense formada en Auburn, Nueva York, en 1980. Fundada por el bajista Joey DeMaio y el guitarrista Ross "The Boss" Friedman, la banda se ha consagrado como un ícono del metal épico, caracterizado por sus letras inspiradas en la mitología, la fantasía y la lucha heroica.

Joey DeMaio trabajaba como técnico de bajo para Black Sabbath durante su gira 'Heaven and Hell' cuando conoció a Ross Friedman, quien estaba actuando con su banda Shakin' Street. La conexión fue instantánea y ambos decidieron formar una banda que se alejara de las tendencias comerciales y que se enfocara exclusivamente en el verdadero espíritu del metal.

El Primer Asalto: Battle Hymns (1982)

Manowar lanzó su álbum debut, Battle Hymns, en 1982. Este disco sentó las bases de lo que sería su distintivo sonido: riffs poderosos, solos virtuosos y la voz operática de Eric Adams. Temas como "Death Tone" y el himno "Battle Hymn" resonaron entre los aficionados al metal por su audacia y actitud indomable.

Clásicos del Metal: Sign of the Hammer y Hail to England

La banda continuó afianzando su estatus con álbumes como Into Glory Ride (1983), Hail to England (1984) y Sign of the Hammer (1984). Cada uno de estos discos ofrecía una mezcla de potentes himnos de batalla y epopeyas musicales que tenían tanto de absoluto heavy metal como de operístico.
