Este intérprete saltó a la fama en 2009, con el lanzamiento de su primer sencillo titulado “Toot It and Boot It” en el que estuvo acompañado por Ty Dolla $ign, que alcanzó el número 67 en el Billboard Hot 100. Género musical El estilo musical de YG ha estado vinculado hacia el género hip-hop y rap, con los cuales ganó gran reconocimiento en la industria musical.
