'. ¿Quién fue La Lupe? La Lupe, de nombre verdadero Lupe Victoria Yolí Raymon, fue una extraordinaria cantante cubana. Con un estilo único e inigualable, durante dos décadas realizó una carrera musical intensa y muy exitosa. Admirada por muchos amantes del bolero, incomprendida por otros, después de su muerte se convirtió en leyenda. Dejó una huella imborrable dentro de la música afrocaribeña. La Yiyiyi, como también se hizo llamar, fue controversial, irreverente y, según algunos críticos, adelantada a su tiempo. Derrochó buena parte de la fortuna que hizo gracias a su gran talento musical, llegando a vivir de la caridad. Doce años antes de morir, se apartó de la industria musical. En la última fase de su vida, alejada ya de otras creencias religiosas, se convirtió al cristianismo. Se distanció, asimismo, de la vida mundana que había cultivado.
