Mercy
To a woe-begotten land
Upon those who live in the shadow of madness
Brought on by their own hand
Once a land
Blessed with the dawn of an age
It's path placed in the hands of
A creature insane
The birth of belief
And of opposition
A time of kings and queens
And cosmic missions
One may tell
Of domination
And suppression of masses
Throughout a nation
The merciless sound
Of an iron gate
And there was one of many who would step
Into the arena that sealed his fate
Well amidst the jeering crowd
Would he stand fast and proud, yeah
To be consumed by half-starved, maddened beasts of prey
And onlookers would revel in his fate this day
A hero though he was
A fool was he too
From then was the madness upon us
And worse from then it grew
Well mercy on man's fate, cursed to live his existence
As the object of his own chosen rampage
Oh, I feel he’s gone mad, yeah
