Daydream
I close my eyes and daydream
And think about what it means
To be a hip NASA engineer
Build a rocket ship disappear
Visit vast stars far from here
“He’s crazy” I overhear
They wake me up I feel trapped
I close my eyes just to go back
Don’t wake me
I’m in a daydream
I close my eyes and daydream
Keen on evading the routine
Back on my quest as an astronaut
Reality now just an afterthought
Destinations to space stations
Alien worlds and civilizations
Imagination is what we lack
I close my eyes just to go back
Don’t wake me
I’m in a daydream
I close my eyes so I can drift far away
Drawing on my books in school
With crayons by the handful
Imagine something incredible
And paint my dreams colorful
I close my eyes just to break free
There’s more to life than what you see
I close my eyes so don’t wake me
Lately only daydreams save me
Don’t wake me
I’m in a daydream
I close my eyes so I can drift far away
I’m in a daydream
