'. ¿Quién fue Johnny Ventura? Juan de Dios Ventura Soriano, mejor conocido como Johnny Ventura y apodado El Caballo Mayor y Papa, fue un cantante de merengue y salsa. El también conocido como "El Elvis del Merengue" nació en Santo Domingo, capital de la República Dominicana, el 8 de marzo de 1940 y falleció el 28 de julio de 2021 de un infarto en un hospital de la República Dominicana a los 81 años. Era conocido por clásicos como "Patacon Pisao", "Pitaste", "El Elevador" y "Merenguero Hasta la Tambora". También se desempeñó como vicealcalde de Santo Domingo de 1994 a 1998 y como alcalde de la misma ciudad de 1998 a 2002. La trayectoria de Johnny Ventura cuenta con 105 producciones discográficas, siendo el artista dominicano más prolífico en ese sentido, y cuyas grabaciones han sido premiadas con 28 discos de oro, dos de platino y un Latin Grammy en el 2004 y un Grammy a la Excelencia por su trayectoria en el 2006.
