'. ¿Quién es Plácido Domingo ? José Plácido Domingo Embil, nació en Madrid, España el 21 de enero de 1941. Conocido simplemente como Placido Domingo, es un cantante de ópera español, el más destacado de los tenores del panorama operístico del siglo XX. Ha grabado más de cien óperas completas y es bien conocido por su versatilidad, actuando regularmente en italiano, francés, alemán, español, inglés y ruso en las óperas más prestigiosas del mundo. Placido Domingo fue principalmente un tenor lirico-spinto durante la mayor parte de su carrera, especialmente popular por sus Cavaradossi, Hoffmann, Don José y Canio, rápidamente pasó a papeles más dramáticos, convirtiéndose en el Otello más aclamado de su generación.
