El Vuelo Ascendente de A Flock of Seagulls: Una Historia Musical Memorable
Inicios: De Liverpool al Éxito Internacional
Corría el año 1979 cuando en la vibrante ciudad de Liverpool, Inglaterra, surgió una banda que marcaría una época en la historia de la música: A Flock of Seagulls. Formada por Michael "Mike" Score (vocalista y tecladista), su hermano Ali Score (baterista), así como Frank Maudsley (bajista) y Paul Reynolds (guitarrista), la banda se convirtió en un emblema del new wave y el synth-pop de los años 80.
El Nombre y la Estética Única
El peculiar nombre del grupo, inspirado en una frase de la canción "Toiler on the Sea" de The Stranglers y en un libro de Jonathan Livingston Seagull, anticipaba la capacidad de la banda para soñar y elevarse. Uno de los elementos que contribuyó a su popularidad fue la estética visual que adoptaron, especialmente el peinado característico de Mike Score, que rápidamente se convirtió en un icono de la década.
