I remember in the day, I was just a girl
Thinking how cool this is
My man is calling from jail
I know I was naïve, a fool in love
And looking back it was doomed to fail, life was too tough
Feels like a million years ago
But I don't look back, 'cause I wanna go forward
[?] and stolen [?]
We were so young
We could have been kings and queens
We could have been anything
We could have [?] the world, when I was your girl
Two diamonds from the gutter
We could have been kings and queens
We could have lived all our dreams
If I could have set you free, I would, believe me
But we didn't get it right this time
Maybe in another life
Maybe in another life
Maybe in another life
Maybe in another life
Come to your mama's house, I'd stay too late
I get in trouble and they're sending out the search party
I think you ended it, 'bout fourteen times
Just for the thrill of gettin' back together after the fight
Feels like a million years ago
But I don't look back, 'cause I wanna go forward
[?] and stolen [?]
We were so young
We could have been kings and queens
We could have been anything
We could have [?] the world, when I was your girl
Two diamonds from the gutter
We could have been kings and queens
We could have lived all our dreams
If I could have set you free, I would, believe me
But we didn't get it right this time
Maybe in another life
Maybe in another life
Maybe in another life
Maybe in another life
And I don't look back, 'cause I wanna go forward
But I hope you're well, got what you wanted
You still cross my mind, are you Ok?
I pray you'll get it right next time
So maybe in another life
Maybe in another life
Maybe in another life
Maybe we'll be better next time
We could have been kings and queens
We could have been anything
We could have [?] the world, when I was your girl
Two diamonds from the gutter
We could have been kings and queens
We could have lived all our dreams
If I could have set you free, I would, believe me
But we didn't get it right this time
Maybe in another life
