'. ¿Quién es Sergio Mendes? Sérgio Mendes, cuyo verdadero nombre es Sérgio Santos Mendes, es un cantautor, arreglista, pianista y músico brasileño. Nació en Niterói, Río de Janeiro, Brasil, el 11 de febrero de 1941.s especialmente famoso por formar el grupo Sérgio Mendes & Brasil '66, con el que logró éxitos internacionales como "Mas que Nada" y "The Look of Love". También ha ganado éxito en solitario por ser el coautor de la canción "Real in Rio", la cual fue utilizado para película de animación Río. Niñez, Juventud y Vida Familiar Sérgio Mendes nació y creció en Brasil. Abandonado por su madre, Mendes estudió música en el conservatorio de Niterói, su ciudad natal en Brasil, con la esperanza de convertirse en un pianista clásico. A medida que su interés por el jazz crecía, comenzó a tocar en clubes nocturnos durante la década de los 50, en la época en la que nacía el bossa nova.
