Konshens: El Fenómeno del Dancehall que Conquistó el Mundo
Primeros Años y Sus Inicios en la Música
Konshens, cuyo nombre real es Garfield Delano Spence, nació el 11 de enero de 1985 en Kingston, Jamaica. Proveniente de una familia humilde, la música siempre fue una parte fundamental de su vida desde muy joven. Su primera exposición significativa al mundo de la música vino de la mano de su hermano mayor, Delus, quien también era músico.
La carrera de Konshens comenzó formalmente a mediados de los años 2000, cuando se unió a su hermano para formar un dúo llamado Sons of Jah. Ellos lanzaron varios temas, pero fue la incursión solista de Konshens la que realmente puso en marcha su notable carrera.
El Ascenso a la Fama
Konshens empezó a ganar reconocimiento en 2005 con la canción “Pon Di Corner”, la cual fue un éxito tanto a nivel local como internacional. Este tema le permitió salir de Jamaica y llevar su música a otros rincones del mundo, destacándose especialmente en países como Japón.
Durante los siguientes años, Konshens consolidó su lugar en la escena musical con una serie de éxitos que incluyeron “Winner”, “This Means Money” y “Gal Dem Ah Talk”.
