Yo nací -como reza esa hermosa canción de Edson No Recomendable- de un Padre negro y de una --Madre clara, y era muy feliz”… Mi papá era un pardusco zamarro nacido en el departamento de Arequipa. Sus padres, oriundos de Apurimac, criaron a este indócil rapazuelo ke acabó escapándose de su sitio natal hasta llegar a la ciudad de Ica, en la costa peruana. No sé cómo llegó o ké clase de periplo haya realizado este travieso imberbe, pero la aventura escapística y huidiza de Enrique, lo trajo hasta Lima. Estamos hablando de los años 30, en una Lima ke atraía la curiosidad de cientos de peruanos y extranjeros. Una Lima ke era, a decir de los jóvenes documentalistas y octogenarios memoriosos, una agraciada flor al costado del continente sud americano. Mi papá llegó enredado en ese ovillo de la curiosidad y embelesado por todo lo ke se decía de la Lima de ese entonces. Cuando la Unidad Vecinal terminó de nacer, sus únicos vecinos eran la Av.
