'. ¿Quién es Heatmiser? Heatmiser fue una banda de indie rock fundada en Portland, Oregon, en octubre de 1991. Estuvo integrada por Elliott Smith (guitarra y voz), Neil Gust (guitarra y voz), Brandt Peterson (bajo; luego sería reemplazado por Sam Coomes), y Tony Lash (batería). La banda se caracterizó por sus letras bien elaboradas y canciones que a menudo ofrecían la yuxtaposición de palabras con melodías melancólicas y alegres. Las canciones pop de Elliott Smith eran un contraste con las canciones más oscuras de Neil Gust, ambas abordaron temas tales como la ira, la alienación, la soledad y la desesperación. Neil Gust y Elliott Smith formaron la banda tras conocerse en el Hampshire College en Amherst, Massachusetts.
