'. ¿Quién es Iggy Pop? (Nombre artístico de James Newell Osterberg; Ann Arbor, Michigan, 1947) Iggy Pop es también conocido como La Iguana, sobrenombre que procede de su primera aventura en la música como batería de un grupo local llamado The Iguanas; después tocó en una banda de Blues llamada The Prime Movers. Pero no comenzó a ser conocido hasta 1967, cuando se integró en The Stooges, formación germen de lo que sería el próximo movimiento Punk. Con dicho grupo llamó la atención por sus escandalosos directos: Iggy Pop se lanzaba entre el público y se cortaba en medio de la actuación. Aquellos espectaculares directos les llevarían a ser fichados por Elektra, que editó The Stooges en 1968, producido por John Cale, miembro del grupo Velvet Underground.
