En 2010, Marina and the Diamonds lanzó su primer álbum de larga duración, The Family Jewels. Con temas como "Hollywood", "I Am Not a Robot" y "Oh No!", la producción fue un éxito crítico y comercial.

Starlight (Extended version)
Stars and love burn bright,
'til they're ready to die.
The broken spend their nights,
staring at the sky.
You, oh, you had a sad urge to be
wanted by fools.
Welcoming girls that would be snoopin',
troopin', envelopin' your family jewels.
You chose to grow your nose,
but deep down you knew I knew,
you knew I knew,
that I'd up and run quicker than good boys could come.
They said I was too good fo you.
Wake up little Suzie.
It's bad news when you hear a guy cry.
You spilt the bean in January.
Timed it perfectly after your granny died.
You knew I wouldn't shoot a man when he was down.
Well done, Pinocchio you made a lie.
Why would you take advantage of a cut up heart.
You'e such a vulnerable type.
You said ''I'm so lonely, won't you hold me?
I'm so lonely, come baby, hold me.''
Love is like staright,
see it when a star dies.
It continues to shine,
but it's only old light.
Oh, old light, it's been dead for a long time.
Long time, with time, time.
Stars and love burn bright,
'til they're ready to die.
The broken spend their nights,
staring at the sky.
If love enters your life,
it leaves a stain inside you sky.
This will lead you to believe
that it is still alive.
But it is just old light,
completing it's last flight.
Across a velvet night.
Stars burn bright 'til they die.
Like love bites in the sky, love is like a starlight.
Love is starlight.
I took all our favourite songs,
played them and I made them my own.
I went to our favourite bars,
and I drank in them alone.
Woah, 'cause I've grown up a solitary soul.
Sometimes I think it's better on my own.
I need time just to roam, roam, roam.
Find one place I can call home.
Love is like starlight,
even when a star dies,
you can see it shine;
But it's only old light.
Oh, old light, it's been dead for a long time.
Long time, with time, time.
Stars and love burn bright,
'til they're ready to die.
The broken spend their nights,
staring at the sky.
If love enters your life,
it leaves a mark inside you sky.
This will lead you to believe
that it is still alive.
But it is just old light,
completing it's last flight.
Across a velvet night.
Stars burn bright 'til they die.
Like love bites in the sky, love is like a starlight.
Love is starlight.
