Inicio y Primeros Años
Secondhand Serenade es el proyecto personal del cantante y compositor John Vesely, nacido el 5 de febrero de 1982 en Menlo Park, California. Antes de adentrarse en el mundo de la música como solista, Vesely estuvo involucrado en varias bandas locales, donde cumplió roles como bajista y cantante. El Origen del Nombre
El nombre "Secondhand Serenade" tiene una historia interesante detrás. Vesely lo escogió para sugerir que sus canciones eran serenatas indirectas a su audiencia. Originalmente, eran dedicadas a su entonces esposa, pero con cada interpretación y grabación, el público recibía una serenata de segunda mano. Esta idea encajaba perfectamente con la forma íntima y emotiva de su música.
Primeros Logros: “Awake”
En 2007, Secondhand Serenade lanzó su primer álbum, Awake. Grabado de manera independiente, este disco es básicamente un conjunto de canciones acústicas cargadas de emociones crudas y honestas. Temas como “Vulnerable” y “Your Call” se convirtieron rápidamente en favoritos de los fans, mientras que la plataforma MySpace ayudó significativamente en su promoción.
