Los Inicios: Una Rebelión Musical
Motörhead, una de las bandas más influyentes en la historia del rock y el heavy metal, fue fundado en 1975 por el carismático y rebelde Lemmy Kilmister. Antes de crear Motörhead, Lemmy había sido miembro de varios grupos, incluyendo la banda de rock psicodélico Hawkwind. Sin embargo, su salida de Hawkwind en 1975 fue el punto de partida para formar su propia banda, con la que deseaba llevar la música a un nivel de intensidad sin precedentes.
El Nombre y la Filosofía
El nombre Motörhead tiene sus raíces en la jerga inglesa que describe a los consumidores de anfetaminas, lo cual sugería la energía y el estilo de vida rápido y desenfrenado de la banda. Desde el principio, Lemmy deseaba crear música que fuera ruidosa, rápida y sin concesiones, diferenciándose de cualquier otra banda contemporánea. Primeros Miembros y Álbum Debut
La formación inicial de Motörhead incluía, además de Lemmy en el bajo y voz, a Larry Wallis en la guitarra y Lucas Fox en la batería. No obstante, esta alineación no duró mucho tiempo. Eddie Clarke (guitarra) y Phil "Philthy Animal" Taylor (batería) pronto se unieron a Lemmy, y juntos grabaron el álbum debut homónimo Motörhead, lanzado en 1977. Este álbum insinúa el sonido crudo y enérgico que definiría a la banda en los años siguientes.
