En 1993, Tupac lanzó su segundo álbum, Strictly 4 My N.I.G.G.A.Z., que incluía éxitos como I Get Around y Keep Ya Head Up.

2pac - Legacy Lyrics

LEGACY LyricsLegacy

Intro -Tupac

And my raps that I’m rapping to my community shouldn’t be filled with rage, and we shouldn’t be angry. We asked 10 years ago we was asking with the panthers. We asking with them, you know the civil rights movements. We was asking, you know now those people that were asking their all dead or in jail. So now what do you think were gonna do?

Hook: Tylone

Just tryna live out my dreams and leave a legacy
They keep killing us in the street they won’t let us breath
Just tryna live out my dream and leave a legacy
They keep killing us in the streets they want let us be

Verse 1: Tylone

Why they keep killing us?
400 years guess he had to deal with us
We need to unify it can’t just be one of us
Pleading with god forgive everyone of us
They got Breanna and still no conviction

They breaking the rules my sprit conflicted
We can’t even jog in peace
Just look at amuad deceased
Another statistic
Keep taking our Kings and queens
They know that we gifted
This world that we live in need healing it’s going ballistic

It’s bigger than Floyd they stifled the system
No politician but I got a vision
Imagine a world without all the killing
Imagine a world no stealing and dealing
Imagine a world where brothers can live in

Imagine a world that’s full of black business
They burned down a building to got your attention
Now that you here imma need you to listen
We tryna be peaceful we signed the petition

We sell all your products with lil commission
Now is the time we assume our position
I run with some Kings we full of ambition
We all went to school we paid our tuition
Im Bearing my arms I got ammunition

Cause men of my color we always suspicious
Far from a criminal imma musician
My granny work hard she still in the trenches
Forty plus years she gave that to the system
I stand on all 10 behind all my sisters
I got a lil pistols I want me a missile

I’m for the cause I’m not for the cap
Ain’t shaking no hands I been giving dap
We been oppressed just look at the gap
The world steady changing we gotta adapt

Back to the motherland check out the map
God my protection i don’t need these straps
I want me a business I want me a app
I hope to see change yes starting with rap

Shoutout to Kap big homie was kneeling
Can't do this alone we praying for healing

Hook : Tylone

Just tryna live out my dreams and leave a legacy
They keep killing us in the street they won’t let us breath
Just tryna live out my dream and leave a legacy
They keep killing us in the streets they want let us be

V2

Time after time they taking my brothers and sisters
Cuffing them without a crime they got away with Trayvon
They took our brother Akai that made me go get a iron
We live in prophetic time it’s only a matter of time

I put my fist to the sky I know that we all on the rise
I put the three by my eyes Them demon be up in disguise
Made in his image and likeness that make me GOD
I pray for the mothers that cried

I pray for they love ones that died
Don’t know what you feeling inside
WHEN They GONE LET GO they PRIDE
America built off of lies a lot of my people they tired
A lot of my ancestors died a lot of em fought for they lives

I spoke to a few that survived
They say that we gotta keep striving
We gotta win with our mind
I see the signs of the times
I knew it would come overtime
How can we breath
Asking for peace
But they kill us up in the streets

Change gotta come from within
We took some shots to the chin
I don’t know where to begin
Look at the places we been
If this ever happen again
Lord I need you to step in

So many questions we fighting for justice
Show they true colors because our complexion
I don’t fear man cause GOD MY PROTECTION
A lot of distractions because the Election

Keep god in mind when you make your selection
Every step taken just lead the direction
God is my source my only connection
Stay with some soldiers can’t run in My section
Took away Floyd left a family destroyed

Keep it strategic when playing my card
I pray that the lord dismantle they weapons
Don’t let Imma prosperI got a AR it sing like a opera
But I don’t do violence Im gone do this proper

Hook

Just tryna live out my dreams and leave a legacy
They keep killing us in the street they won’t let us breath
Just tryna live out my dream and leave a legacy
They keep killing us in the streets they want let us be

Outro
Tupac

All of society is doing is leeching off the ghetto. They use the ghetto for their pain, for their sorrow , for their culture , for their music , for their happiness
For their movies. They talk about boys in the hood you know what I saying? I don’t wanna be 50 years old at a B.E.T we shall overcome achievement awards. you know what I’m saying ? I’m not saying I’m going to rule the world or I’m gonna change the world but I guarantee That I will spark the brain that will change the world and that’s our job is to spark somebody else watching us We might not be the ones but let’s not be selfish and because we not gonna change the world let’s not talk about how we should change it. I don’t know how to change it but I guarantee if I keep talking about how dirty it is somebody gone clean it up !
